okay, a year ago a girl and her boyfriend were watching new year’s fireworks on a seawall. the lake just below them was almost freezing and had a deadly undercurrent. the girlfriend dropped her bottle so the boy hung himself off the seawall to retrive it with his foot. he could not pull himself up and his girlfriend wasn’t strong enough, he could no longer hold on and he fell in. he started to scream but nobody could or would help them. she told him to swim to some ladders but he didn’t make it and she watched him drown right infront of her. she said ‘I tried to make it to him but he was 20 feet away from shore and his head went under’ that’s the part I didn’t get.tried to make it to him from what? she didn’t jump in so what was that supposed to mean exactly?
