[ Law & Ethics ] Open Question : At will employee or implied contract. Wife fired without documentation?

My wife was fired about 3 weeks ago and we requested and received her personnel file and the written truthful reason for her termination. nnThere was not an application with her signature acknowledging that her employment is at will. She never filled one out. She also never received an employee handbook and has no documentation with her signature acknowledging that her handbook is not a contract ,her employment is at will and that she received an employee handbook. nnThey claimed the reason for her firing was ongoing employment issues. They were not documented. nnHer performance reviews were removed. But she had copies of them.nnSo they make claims without proof and we have proof they tampered with her personnel file. We sent a letter requesting they make a good faith offer by today for a severance package or we would sue.nnToday their attorney called and asked if he could have until next Friday to look over her file. We agreed.nnWhat are your thoughts?nnMinnesota is an at will employee state but there is serious lack of documentation.
