I started a vermicompost bin a little ago. I don’t know how many worms I have because I was given the worms by another vermicompost user. I’m a newbie in this, so I didn’t know I had to make a newspaper bedding for the worms, or even how much I should feed them.

After realizing too late that I had overfed them (mold was beginning to grow on the food) I decided to take all the moldy food out as much as I can. My brother suggested dumping a lot of soil over them to ‘re-create’ their environment (I’m using red-wigglers btw) and perhaps make all the fruit flies go away (yes there were lots of them).

My question is, is it ok to dump soil over the food instead of making a newspaper bedding? (It is my understanding that the food goes under the bedding). The soil I dumped over the worms had nutrients/fertilizers cuz I was coincidentally transplanting a tomato plant to a bigger pot and decided to get nutrient-rich soil.

Somehow I fear for those worms’ lives. Any help would be appreciated.

I think he is crazy!

Let me tell you a little about myself and why the dr came to this ridiculous conclusion.

I got pregnant off mirena. So its high risk. Me and my husband are going through a temporary seperation and we have 15 month old baby boy. I know this sounds bad but neither of us wanted this baby. I am 12 weeks pregnant and still not fully excited like I was with my first. I have so much stress that ultrasound proved that the baby is being affected by it through their heart rate. He told me that if I quit smoking now it would do more harm than good because I guess when you quit it puts more stress on your body. I think hes totally stupid for saying this….. he just said keep smoking but drink alot of water to wash out some of the nicotine. With my first I quit at 13 weeks. This one, I have tried when i first found out, but due to not wanting to be pregnant again I didnt stick with it. Do you think I should listen to the Dr or try to quit anyway and risk harming the baby?

Also, what other tricks do yall know that will flush nicotine out of my body! I dont want my baby to be affected by smoking, but I dont want them to be hurt anymore by quitting.

I’m a girl, 13 years old. My room is very small. I’m pretty sure it’s a 10×10 foot room. I just got a new dresser with a mirror on it, it works wonderfully. But my room is really really messy all the time. I have a few clothes hanging in my closet; as I made it as a little nook thing, where I go and read and stuff. I have a white bookshelf that I use for my perfumes, deodorant, earrings, etc. I have these storage bin things like these:

I have another one, a small one, with 4 little drawers. I use the little one for hair stuff and markers, crayons, etc. I should really clean those out actually. But as for my hair straightener, and my hair dryer, they’re on the floor in a tangled mess beside my CD player. Where can I put those? I have my dirty laundry in a hamper, but I need to get a new one, mine’s ripped. I need all of your tips and tricks that you have to make my room clean, please. =)

This guy & I have known each other for about 2 years because he’s my friend’s sister, although we’ve only hung out once before and talked a few times. Well recently we reconnected on facebook, and started talking on the phone, sending pictures, flirting, talking about dating, a possible relationship, etc. So things were going well & we said we liked other, etc. So I flew out to visit him (he lives in a different state currently, but is from where I live & mentioned moving back) and spent the wkdn with him. Things seemed to go well, he was very affectionate with me, paid for absolutely everything, was a gentlemen, we cuddled, even cuddled in the movies, just doing what seemed to be couple things & acting like a couple. There would be some times where we wouldnt know what to say so there was sometimes silence but I didnt think it was a big deal. And when my parents or friends called I’d say I was hanging out with a friend & he’d give me a look like he thought I should say more. Well we also hooked up because we discussed before that I don’t hook up on the first date but it wasn’t exactly our first time meeting so we both mutually agreed on that, so I didn’t think that would be a big deal if we hooked up. Everything seemed great, when he dropped me off at the airport he gave me a big hug & kiss, & I said that I’d text him later, even though he’d be in meetings all day at work. So I texted him when I got home, but no answer, so I just assumed he was busy. Then I texted him later in the day while he was at class & said that he doesn’t get reception in class which I thought was odd because he usually got service before & texted me. So I started thinking hmmm..what’s going on. Later that night he IMed me saying he had the longest day & I wondered why he hadnt texted or called, but he really didn’t give a response. Then the next morning I wrote him a message, telling him that I had a great time & that I like him but didnt understand why he is being standoffish. But no reply yet. So I’m realllllllly confused on how to handle this or to even understand what is going on? He was all about me one minute then the next?
