[ Other - Hardware ] Open Question : Windows XP doesn’t recognize USB Mouse or Keyboard at all! What do I do?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Ok, so I installed Windows Xp on my Intel Mac yesterday, and it was working fine until this morning. It would boot as normal, but after about 30 seconds, an item appeared in the task bar with the letters and random numbers after it. It rebooted randomly, and after a couple of these, it started up relatively normally and said that Windows recovered from a major error. I tried to move the mouse but it wouldn’t work! Same with the keyboard! So I tried another wireless USB keyboard, and a wired USB keyboard and it doesn’t work. Every time I turn it off and on, the Mac chime comes in, and the keyboard and mouse has power for a couple seconds, and then windows starts up and the keyboard and mouse turns off again. And yesterday I set it so it boot into Windows automatically so I’m screwed :( nnDoes anybody know a fix? Thanks!nSent from my iPhone :)

[ Other - Careers & Employment ] Open Question : I am leaving my job but would like to continue to work from home?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I have had my job for two years but now I need to move to another city with my partner for his job. I will be putting in my notice soon but would like to try to keep my job and telecommute. There are many aspects of my job I could do from home. A great deal of what I do is through e-mails and phone calls. Has anyone ever attempted this? Do you have any advice as to what to put or how to work a document that I could give to my boss when I put in my notice?nnThanks!

[ Other - General Health Care ] Open Question : How long should it take to heal? I’m getting concerned.?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I had to get minor surgery on my toe because I had an ingrown toe nail. I got it removed on both sides. After it, the one side wouldn’t stop bleeding, and he had to put an extra stitch in it. I then went home and the next day I removed the bandage. (I was told to to do it the morning) Sure enough the other side kept bleeding for the whole day. It was only dripping, but it wouldn’t stop. So, I stopped wiping it off, and allowed it to build. It clotted badly, and it just looks like a hunk of blood, but it finally stopped. Then 3 days after I had a shower (instead of a bath and sticking my foot out), so it started bleeding again. Today is exactly a week after the surgery, and I still can’t shower without it bleeding, and its still painful to just slip on sandals. Should I be concerned? How long should it take to heal?nnI’m going in on Thursday to get the stitches removed, so luckily the doctor will see it then. So, how long should it actually take to heal?
